Election Statement as submitted & certified by the candidate

With over 42 years of experience in engineering — including 34 years at the Central Engineering Consultancy Bureau (CECB) — my career has been defined by a deep commitment to professional excellence and the growth of future engineers. My active involvement with the Institution of Engineers, Sri Lanka (IESL) began in 2009 as a member of the Civil Engineering Sectional Committee, where I later served as Chairman for three consecutive sessions. During this period, I introduced several innovative initiatives in both CSR and professional practice.

One of the most fulfilling aspects of my journey has been training and mentoring young engineers. I have conducted numerous programs on positive thinking, attitude transformation, personality development, and emotional intelligence, in addition to technical training. My Continuing Professional Development (CPD) program on Etiquette, designed to enhance both professional and personal conduct, received wide recognition. Over the years, I have had the privilege of training more than 1,500 engineers, primarily from CECB, focusing on holistic professional and personal development.

Looking ahead, I remain dedicated to sharing my knowledge and experience to uplift engineers, strengthen IESL initiatives, and contribute to national development. I firmly believe IESL must evolve into a vibrant, inclusive, and forward-looking platform that fosters collaboration, empowers engineers, and plays a stronger role in nation-building.
