Election Statement as submitted & certified by the candidate
- Enhance the recognition towards Engineers in the society.
When compared with the other parallel professions in the country, I feel that the Engineers are lagging behind with regard to the recognition in the society. This is mainly due to our lack of interest to gain the due respect and poor interaction with the community. We have to accept this and only we ourselves can make the difference have a keen interest to work on that and we should be committed to show the value of Engineers in the society. - Act against any agreement which can be harmful to Engineering profession in the Country.
We IESL is the leading professional body in the country who represent the Engineering profession in Sri Lanka. Hence I believe that we have a right and responsibility to present ourselves at every forum and engage in the discussions going on in any agreement the country going to sign. We should not allow any non-engineering personnel to take decision on engineering matters in this country.
By becoming a Council member of IESL I believe that I will get a good opportunity to raise the voice of young members of the IESL work on the above.
