Eng. S K Lasantha Buddhi Prasad graduated in 2010 with BSc (Honours) degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Moratuwa and he was the Vice President of the Electrical Engineering Society of University of Maratuwa 2009/2010 term.
He became a member of the Institution of Engineers, Sri Lanka (IESL) in the year 2020.He is currently serving as a Council Member session 2024 / 2025 and served as the chairman of the Junior Inventor of the Year (JIY) and Undergraduate Inventor of the Year committee session 2023/2024 which is organised by the IESL as a annual event and a member of the Electrical, Electronic & Telecommunication Engineering Sectional Committee of the IESL. He has been the vice chairman of the Junior Inventor of the Year (JIY) committee for the session 2021/2022 and a member of the Young Members Committee for the session 2020/2021.
He commenced his career in 2011 as System Control Engineer attached to National System Control Centre, Ceylon Electricity Board and has gathered broad knowledge in Power Plant Dispatching, Transmission Network Operations, and failure restorations.
He is currently working as Electrical Engineer (SCADA) attached to National System Control Centre, with expertise of steady state power system modelling, integration new power plants/grid substations to existing SCADA system and troubleshooting of real time power flow simulations.

Presently I am designated as an Electrical Engineer (SCADA) for Ceylon Electricity Board, my experience includes broad knowledge in Power System Modeling, SCADA integrations, Power Plant Dispatching, Transmission Network Operations, and failure restorations.
I am currently serving as a Council Member session 2024 / 2025 and served as the chairman of the Junior Inventor of the Year (JIY) and Undergraduate Inventor of the Year committee session 2023/2024. I have been a member of IESL in Electrical, Electronic and Telecommunication Sectional Committee, Junior Inventor of the Year Committee and Young Members Section (YMS) and contributed to organizing many events. I would continue to bring into the Council my experience gained from the state and private sector and to support the institution in its future endeavours.
If elected, I would continue to undertake this role with enthusiasm and will pledge to upkeep the dignity of the profession through all activities in IESL. Furthermore, I would dedicate myself to expand our current portfolio of services especially for young entrepreneurs and student branches.
